IMO, we're fortunate to have the Captain in our corner! IndyCar's future looks bright to me...
-
Sounds like a sweet setup Nick! So long as your science makes sense behind the wheel?
Hot laps always tell that tale!
Makes me long for my x-late model race dates...
-
No doubt. That's always their rational huh?
I have an idea. Why not also allow paint guns in every car. That way, if blocking don't keep 'em behind, you can blind 'em!
-
I tried to watch it to the end, but finally gave up and went for a bike ride at the beach. I refuse to trade my fun in the sun ... for their ignorance behind the wheel.
If NASCAR truly wants to fix their package, then stop allowing endless blocking from punks like Lagono and others. It kills the show and any continued interest from fans (new or old)
I'm truly amazed they haven't figured that out yet? Until then, I'll stay focused on open wheel racing!

All joking aside fellas ... this gal is exactly what our sport needs!
I hope y'all heard her post-race interview. She's bubbly, enthusiastic, attractive and she's a genuine racer ... not just another Panica publicity stunt.
She's exactly what's needed right now to put some "new" warm fannies in those cold seats across America...

Yep BB, great run for her today, finishing 2nd in her first Daytona race. Watched the whole thing, which is more than I can say for ANY recent N-car race. Obviously you and some others are not familiar with my history on here. Yes, I knew who she was all along. Just trying to draw a little attention to her on this board and liven it up a little.
AND, there is no need to congratulate yourself on here.
"Congrats 2 Self" (as in Michael Self ... the winner!) lol

OK guys. You've turned the knob. Now, open the door for us on this site. Just who the 773H IS this Haly Degon or whatever her name is. Let's see some pics. What is her racing background. Is she really any good or is this just all promotional B/S. Come on. Start a HD thread. Let's get started. Half the people on here know no female is capable of competitively driving a race car. Convince us we are all wrong !!!
U & TT convinced now? Respect 2 Deegan. Congrats 2 Self!

Wishing her much success tonight. Go fast sista, stay safe!

Sounds like something I need to check out? The World Series of Asphalt is top-notch short track racing. Catch it if ya can folks!

That pic brings back fond memories. I never raced one, but got a breath-taking ride in Davey Hamilton's SLR two-seater at Champion Motor Speedway (high-banked asphalt oval)
Back then, I was racing asphalt Super Late Models. That Super Modified made my stockcar feel like a rolling toad!!!
Hamilton took great pleasure in scaring my tin-top butt to death!!! LOL
-
George, have no idea ... but I echo your interest.
Used to watch the west-coast based SRL series race @ Meridian Speedway (ID) on the 1/4-mile asphalt oval. It was the best mega-powered short track racing I've ever seen!
Almost as good as watching Speedway Motorcycles toss it sideways @ Costa Mesa back in the 80's.
-
Good job guys. Keep that good mojo rolling.
-
I saw y'all race in Edna last year.
Not many trucks on track ... but ... I thought it was a start-up series with strong legs for future growth? Getting qualified folks involved to help with that objective is paramount.
Best of luck with your endeavors!

I met John in Laguna Seca @ an IndyCar race many years ago. I was struck by what an honest, warm & balanced dude he was. He wasn't the fastest cat on track, but he was a winner!
RIP John Andretti

You might contact the track promoter?
Back in the day, I'd get calls from new racers like you asking the same question. I had a list of qualified crew chiefs ... and loved seeing the right folks working with one another!
Good luck sir...

When I read your post, I saw “U2” and immediately thought of the band - I totally overlooked the reference to Tim/Josh. So, I read it as the band said something about Danica’s replacement...just the way my mind worked for a second.
Saw them three times. Back on The Joshua Tree tour in Philadelphia, then 2005 in Anaheim and 2018 in Los Angeles.
Great shows, all different in their own way.
3 times? UR da fortunate one! U2 is the 2nd best band I've ever seen.
Of course, the Stones are (and always will be) #1.
But again ...that's JMO.
Good luck in your next race!
-
Me 2 SoCal dude.
We saw em' play @ da Murf (SD/CA) back in the late 80's...
Bitchin' Show! Still have the tickets!
But not sure I get your drift?
-
Tim/Josh:
Maybe U2 should just wish "anyone" who gets in a race car ... best of luck & safe racing?
It's easier to stomach for the rest of us who "genuinely" support the sport...
United we race ... divided we don't!

I'm pulling for whichever "girl power" candidate proves to be the quickest competitor for future Motorsport entertainment. We need genuine racing ladies that relate to female fans!

My distaste for CoTA is a personal thing and I am not asking anyone to understand my position or even agree with me. I have explained myself more than once and I fully understand that others may, or may not, agree with me.
Just like with anything else in life or the racing world, if you enjoy events at CoTA, then, by all means, you should support it.
Nick doesn't have justify his feelings about Cota to anyone. It's his opinion and I happen to agree with him.
But don't question his love, passion and support for Motorsport. He's been stepping up to the pump for a very long time!
Jus my 2c...

A racetrack with tons of sponsors is like a Christmas tree loaded with lights and ornaments. It gets everyone up on the rev limiter and excited for the show! Great job marketing dept. Best of luck to all involved...

Very true, Nathan. However, national and international racing series have historically been "fair game" on this site, within reason, of course. There are several NASCAR threads where strong opinions were voiced, many of them negative in nature.
And honestly, I don't consider COTA a local track in any sense of the word. It was financed by ruthless investors who attempted to ruin the lives and reputations of some of the most respected folks in Texas Motorsports and is also partially funded by public (mine and your) tax dollars. I'm pretty sure SAS, CTS, CC Speedway, Pan American Speedway, Speedarama and countless other local tracks now closed never received a penny of public funds.
And, yes, I am totally biased against the folks that attempted to ruin my good friend and visionary, Tavo Hellmund, and will never do one thing to support them as long as they're involved in any way with COTA.
Sorry if my position on this is upsetting, but it's not about to change.
Well stated Nick. I feel the same way! Jeb
