NeilTPS
There is GOOD NEWS from the Bay Area Medical Center Heart Hospital in Corpus Christi regarding Russ Martin’s major heart surgery Wednesday afternoon. First of all, it wasn’t a “triple bypass”. It was a “quadruple bypass”. Russ has survived as we understand from his employer, the General Manager of KLUX Radio, Marty Wind. When his surgeon entered Russ’s chest, he found that there was a fourth heart artery that was questionable. Therefore, a “quadruple bypass” was accomplished. And … this is no joke for Texas Pro Sedans followers, Russ’s doctors first name is Sergio!Russ is currently in the Intensive Care Unit and is expected to remain in ICU until about Saturday or Sunday. This fact is mentioned because he doesn’t have a room number to which he could receive get well cards or phone calls. (His room number and phone numbers will be posted here when that information becomes available and can be released). NeilTPS
Russ Martin is just fine. He had to get some new chest staples installed a couple of months ago. That sounds medically rough. He told me "all is well" which is proved by his accepting STS's offer for him to do PA Announcing at South Texas Speedway about every other Saturday night since CC Speedway is apparently out of the Corpus Christi racing scene.
