PAPA
I have a 96 GMC 2500 with vortec V-8 and auto trans. Engine cranks fine. With the key in the "ON" position I get power to the radio and blower motor but not to the turn signals and no dash lights of any kind. Ive checked and cleaned all the connections I can fined. Im thinking it might be the switch on the trans but not sure. Please help. Gerald
ratdaddy
PAPA, I dont think that it is the selector switch because it would not crank if that was the case. What you may need to do is check for any blown fusable links at the main wire feed under the hood. They are typically orange in color and use a test light on both ends like you do a fuse. If that all checks good then you may have a bad ignition SWITCH not the tumbler but the switch. We see quite a few of those go bad and will only power up certain things. Try that out. Good luck!
