What is in the future for dirt track racing?

TRACK ANNOUNCER

Recommended Posts

What is in the future for dirt track racing? With the pressing issues of rules and enforcement. Economics and safety. And oh so much more. Who or what is going to guide us through these issues?

As we sort through the sales pitch from the parts counter man, sales ads, tech articles and the factor of keeping up with the Jones in the nearby pit stall we often stop and wonder how we can afford the sport of racing much longer.

Who will help the common man weekend warrior type of racer that makes up the majority of the field in each race at your local track? It is these low budget racers that are often forgotten or simply lost along the way during the decision process by some leaders of the racing community.

Is it our race sanctions that will work for the dues and sanctioning fee’s that we pay them to lead us into the future with some sort of confidence and promise? Or will it be our local tracks that choose to by pass sanctions?

Who will solve the issues that lay ahead in solving the lack of rear wheel drive cars? Front end clip availability issues? After market OEM parts replacement issues? And who will have the expertise and the resources to solve these issues with intelligence and expertise? And who will dedicate the time that it will take to look into these matters?

Will racers in the future ever enjoy racing for points locally, regionally and nationally? Will these same racers be able to race in specialty events outside of their own back yard?

Is it our current sanctions that will have the ability to lead us and to solve the up and coming issues that will be VERY serious to us all?

What will the Outlaw style tracks that have no sanctioning body do to solve these issues? Will they be able to solve these issues?

Who will lead us? Who will guide us? Who will solve these issues? And who will fund this effort?
