Kevin35251
TMS Comeback J.C. Umscheid recently know as "the secret" on Texas Speed Zone took a break from his business duties this weekend to run a car in the Young Chevrolet 100 for Richardson Racing. J.C. Umscheid pulled off a impressive 3rd place finish at the 2nd annual Romco Super Late Model event at Texas Motor Speedway in a car fielded by Richardson Racing, J.C. Umscheid along with teammate Robert Richardson were up front all weekend with top Practice, Qualifying and Race speeds. J.C. Umscheid not being in a racecar in two years drove a car formerly driven by Nascar All-Pro regular Scott Carlson. Starting in the 8th position, J.C. worked his way up early in the race battling with top Romco competitors such as H.E. Naumann Jr and Nascar Busch Series regular Joe Aramendia for the majority of the race. The three drivers were very competitive while trying to catch the leaders throughout the 70-lap event. With about 10 laps to go J.C. Umscheid experienced minor problems when the rear side window blew off which caused him to struggle getting the car to turn. Also noting that the car driven by J.C. was a Short-track car being run on a mile and a half oval. Overall J.C. Umscheid and his Richardson Racing Team pulled off a respectable 3rd place finish and a VERY good comeback for J.C. into the Romco Super Late Model Series.
