Texas Pro Sedans race at C.C. Motor Speedway-July 9th

 

San Antonio, Texas

 

On Saturday night, July 9 the original Texas touring series, the Texas Pro Sedans will contest their next race at C.C. Motor Speedway. The event will be the sixth 2005 race of their 30th consecutive season and will be the second of three TPS series races hosted by C.C. Motor Speedway this season.

The Texas Pro Sedans racing format will consist of 2 laps of Qualifying Time Trials at approximately 7:15pm followed by a 10-15 lap Last Chance Qualifying Race at 8:00pm which will be followed by a 25 Lap Feature Race for the four cylinder Texas Pro Sedan series four cylinder stock cars.

 

A field of 30 drivers are on record having filed their entry for the July 9th race at C.C. Motor Speedway.Included in the entry list are all drivers who have won the five TPS races during the 2005 season:

 

> Donnie Moore of Hutto will again be at the controls of the George Merrell #70 VW Scirocco in which he won the first race of the TPS season at C.C. Motor Speedway on April 9th and the most recent TPS race on June 18th at Thunder Hill Raceway.

 

> Sergio Hexsel of San Antonio scored his first TPS Feature Race at THR on May 28. He returns to the Corpus Christi 1/4th mile track for the July 9th TPS race. Hexsel and Moore are currently tied in point standings for the 2005 Texas Pro Sedans Championship.

 

> Jesse Sandoval of Corpus Christi won the third race of the TPS season at San Antonio Speedway on May 14. He will bring his race winning #7 Ford Pinto home to C.C. Motor Speedway on July 9th.

 

> Jack Dishman of Devine, Texas will drive his very fast #2 Ford Mustang. His last TPS victory came at Thunder Hill Raceway on May 7th.

 

The drivers who hold down the third and fourth points rankings in the closest TPS season yet have filed entry for July 9. They are Lalo Leal of Corpus Christi in his Ford Mustang and six time TPS Champion Bill LaBarge who will compete in his familiar #27 BMW.

 

A large variety of car makes are expected to participate ie: BMW, VW Scirocco, VW Rabbit,

2005 VW, VW Sedan (air cooled), VW Karmen Ghia, Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Mustang, Probe and Pinto, Ford/Mazda, Honda CRX, Dodge Neon and Datsun 510.

 

The San Antonio based Texas Pro Sedans touring series is conducting it’s 30th consecutive year of four cylinder stock car racing in Texas and the southwest. The C.C. Motor Speedway event will be the sixth race of the twelve race 2005 TPS season.

 

In addition to the Texas Pro Sedans race, the event will feature the CCMS Sportsman and Bomber classes on the ¼ mile high backed CCMS asphalt oval.
