TRACKS EXCHANGE CLOSURES

KYLE-Following the recent acquisition of the Texas Asphalt Modified Series (TAMS) by the United States Racing Association, (USRA) the USRA management has requested a change in the scheduling at Thunder Hill Raceway (THR).

In an attempt to see what kind of impact the three classes now under the USRA banner; Super Late Models, AllStar Race Trucks, and the Texas Asphalt Modified Series will make, the USRA requested that THR release TAMS from their scheduled appearance on June 25, 2005, so they can run with the USRA schedule at San Antonio Speedway on that date.

Understanding that the new triumvirate will be an enormous draw, officials at both tracks have decided to cooperate in equitable trade. Thus, Thunder Hill Raceway will shut down operations on June 25, and San Antonio Speedway has agreed to close their track on July 16, when USRA will appear at Thunder Hill. The Texas Asphalt Modified Series will next appear at Thunder Hill Raceway on September 3.

“This will also give our other classes, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Grand Stocks, and Mini-Cups an opportunity to spend an extra weekend with their families and to work on their cars,” stated Thunder Hill Raceway General Manager Brian Callaway.

Thunder Hill Raceway will play host to the Texas Super Racing Series and the Texas Pro Sedans, along with the A-Line Street Stocks, THR Hobby Stocks, and Grand Stocks on June 18, but will be closed on June 25.

They will be back on July 2 with the regular schedule, which includes the Allison Lone Star Legacy Series. Added to the exciting racing program, their will be Kid’s Bike Races during intermission and fireworks following the final feature race.
