Boerneracehounds50 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 The web site shows 430 et april 30th for qual. so race must be a night race and on speed channel, hope Branden Bendele from San Antonio Speedway can make the show. Quote
D_Starr_Lori Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Race will be 7 pm CST, On SPEED..I know that probably conflicts with alot of ya'lls own Saturday night races...But you can always Set your vcr's! The Truckseries.com website will have the live qualifying results online, if you would like to keep up with Brandon Bendele, And David Starr, too! Quote
direct-flo Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 gonna take my dish and t.v. for this one.... stop by... Good luck Brandon!!! Quote
debwill Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Don't miss the races at San Antonio Speedway to watch the CTS race! We've hooked up satellite, courtesy of Hill Country Satellite. Also, Aaron's Sales & Lease has provided a big screen TV to watch the race under the grandstands. I think it's too cool . . . live racing action on the track and on TV. And after the race, catch the Spurs playoff game. There's no reason to stay home! Thanks, Terry B & Terry D for setting up the broadcast for us. CTS drivers will have a couple of hours to practice this morning, and qualifying will begin at 3:30P. Driver introductions will take place at 7P, followed by the race start time of 7:15P. Lori . . . wishing the Starr team luck today too. Didn't David win at Gateway in July of 2004? Quote
champ1796 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Good Luck to Brandon, hope he makes the show and does well. Quote
Boerneracehounds50 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Deb, you and the sas team rock, but if Im downstairs then we need a tv with the track action so we dont miss either, lol, lol, alsways something right, thanks for the sat. hook up, that will be nice. Quote
HOUSTONLM04 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) Looks like Brandon was 36th fastest in the 1st practice. Almost 5 mph off the pole and about 6/10's from making the field. I think 30 start and 41 are trying to make it. 2nd practice is underway right now. http://www.truckseries.com/cgi-script/NCTS...0017/001754.htm Edited April 30, 2005 by HOUSTONLM04 Quote
champ1796 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 looks like brandon will need to pick up some speed to make the race, i sure hope he makes it, 36th fastest in first practice and I dont know if there is a second practice before qualifying, anyone know? Quote
Jason Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 30 trucks have a guaranteed spot to make the race. That means 11 trucks are fighting for 6 spots. He is 4 tenths off of the guy who would get the last spot in the field. Hopefully they can pick it up. Quote
Jason Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Right now he is sitting 8th out of the 11th trucks that he is racing against to make the race. Needs to be atleast 6th in this group in qual. This is during 2nd practice. Quote
ChuckLicata Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Lori . . . wishing the Starr team luck today too. Didn't David win at Gateway in July of 2004? DebWill.. Yes, David won the race in 2004...Here's a little clip from that HISTORIC win for David... David Starr became only the second driver in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series history to win by leading only the final lap, bumping his way to victory Saturday night in the Dodge Ram Tough 200. Starr, driving a Chevrolet, nudged his way past Chad Chaffin in Gateway International Raceway's first turn and beat Dennis Setzer to the checkered flag by 0.444 seconds -- about two truck lengths. The race was scheduled for 160 laps, but was extended by caution a record four times for 14 laps. Quote
direct-flo Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I think Brandon qualifies 14th... From what I understand, the practice sessions are the first time he has been in the truck. My money is on Brandon making the field. Quote
ivicic Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Brandon just crashed on his second lap of qualifying. He was 9th out of 13 trucks so far. Hope they can still make the race and get the truck fixed. Quote
champ1796 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) looks like he will be going home its official,he didnt make it, man that expletive! Edited April 30, 2005 by champ1796 Quote

Debwill, Sorry, just getting around to this today, but YES, David won it, Like Chuck said! Thanks for the Good luck wishes! Brandon did not make the race, was really looking forward to seeing him, I am not familiar with him--But Gotta Love Our TEXAS boys! Better Luck next time to Brandon.. Quote

Definitive Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Looking at the site,it really doesn't explain the extent of this deal.Is Brandon in the seat for an extended period or race to race.Knowing me,I prolly looked right at it and didn't see. Quote
direct-flo Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Rob mentioned it to me, either Rob or Brandon would be the ones to get more info on the deal. Some things are best kept under the hat unless told otherwise. Quote
Definitive Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 That's cool, thx.I thought it was still up in the air,so I guess we'll just sit tight. Quote
