Daum, Thorson Look to Jacksonville as Championship Battle Tightens

Belleville, IL - Friday, October 14th and Saturday, October 15th POWRi will invade the high-banked ¼ mile Jacksonville Speedway for the final two times of 2016. Displaying talents from both the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Division II Midget Series, the double header Shaheen's Super Weekend will be an excellent display of open wheel racing.

With the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series point standings closer than ever for Zach Daum and Tanner Thorson, the points fight is coming down to the wire to decide who will become the champion of 2016. With only three races left and trailing Daum by 760 points, Thorson has an uphill battle to get to the top position. Spencer Bayston holds an 80-point lead over Justin Peck for third, while Jake Neuman trails Peck by 220 points.

In the POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series, Patrick Bruns holds a narrow 120-point margin over Tyler Vantoll, even with 10 total victories in the 2016 season. Adam Taylor trails Vantoll by 280 points for third. Jack Routson holds the fourth position, while Mitchell Davis rounds out the top five.
