Rest in Peace, Johnnie Ivy, former Pan Am Speedway Mini Stock driver

Recommended Posts

This from Johnnie's son, David:

Today we lost the most wonderful man, father and grandfather, ever known. Johnnie C. Ivy was more than a father to his own kids Celeste, Kim, and Trey, but with unconditional love fell in love with my mom Jeanne, and welcomed 5 more kids into his life - Terri,David Joe, Chelle, and James - being known now as the Brady Bunch. We had the perfect family now.

We had river outings in Medina and had fried chicken by the river. We had so much fun together. iff that wasn't fun enough we also had a race car that Johnnie drove at Pan American Speedway. All the kids supported dad and cheered him to victory.

Well life goes on we all get married and have kids, so Celeste marries Ken, Kim and Jim, Trey and Kim, Terri and Joe, David and Cindy, Joe and Mchelle, Chelle and Rick, James and Stacy and now the grand kids came into play and dad welcomed our kids as his grand kids. Colton, Darren, Joey, Michael, Tiffany, Felicia, Justin, Kelsie, Kenze, Joe Randall 3, Ramsie, Nathan, Alyson Lynne, Jonas, Kennedy, Anthony, and Sophia. And if that wasn't enough our great grandkids, Dillon, Gage, Bobby, Alyssa, Chase and Gideon.

Well i know this was long and drawn out, but i wanted everyone to know how much we all love that dad had for all of us. and he was and always be in our hearts.

So RIP father, dad, mentor, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Love you

Johnnie and I were partners on that Chevy Vega Mini Stock that Johnnie - and later Bruce Mabrito - raced at Pan American back in the mid 1970s. You couldn't ask for an easier guy to work with - always had a smile even when things weren't going 100% as hoped.

Johnnie owned and operated Johnnie C. Ivy Plumbing Company for all of his adult life and was a respected businessman as well as a respected member of the Texas Stock Car racing community.

Rest in Peace, Johnnie.

Prayers for his large, loving family at this time.
