Thursday's Event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway Canceled

WAYCROSS, GA (September 28, 2016) - Thursday night's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - sanctioned, Dunn Benson Ford - Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial at Fayetteville Motor Speedway has been canceled. With the forecast of rain and thunderstorms through Thursday evening - respecting the travel obligations of all parties involved - Speedway and Series officials have elected to cancel the event.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Fayetteville Motor Speedway on Thursday, July 6, 2017.

"We'd like to thank Jim Long and the staff of Fayetteville Motor Speedway for allowing us a second attempt at the Dunn Benson Ford - Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial. This was our only scheduled event in North Carolina - it's unfortunate for the race fans in that area." said Series Director, Rick Schwallie.

"Carlton and Kemp Lamm, and Wayne Castleberry of Dunn Benson Ford have worked very hard to make this event a success. They were gracious to open the doors to their Motorsports shop in July. They have promoted the event on their Social Media, and through TV and Radio avenues. We certainly appreciate all they have done to help honor Wayne Gray Sr. and to grow this event." Schwallie added.

On Saturday night, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will head to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. The Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout will include a complete show of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a $12,000 to win, 60-lap main event.
