NickHolt
So, the third time is a charm after all! We finally got the 100-lap TAMS race in this evening at CCMS. 1. (03) Matt Merrell, Portland - a TAMS rookie who won his first time out in a TAMS car. 2. (71) Joey Heinaman, Corpus Christi - defending TAMS champ who gave Matt all he could handle the entire race. 3. (18) Bruce Beddoe, Robstown - right on Joey's bumper the whole way. 4. (15) Chris Swenson, Comfort - set a new track record in qualifying and led the first 20 laps. 5. (14) Larry Smith, Corpus Christi - had the fastest car in practice and ran a smooth, smart race. Jim Myers nearly took down the front straight wall and shook the flagstand after he and David Schury got together at the green flag. Myers got pretty much airborne and the fans got a good look at the underside as he flew by. Myers was unhurt except for a small cut on the elbow. Story and complete results are coming later, but here are the top 5. Nick Holt

NickHolt
did anyone get a good look and Myers' car, how bad was it? Most of the suspension pieces are wiped, but - in the dark anyway - didn't look like much frame damage. Nick Holt
Levi
with a crash like that u would expect the frame to be bent but from what i hear from u and some other people the frame wasn't bent (bad at least)

TMT25
Congratulations to Matt, and everybody at Merrill Racing. They are a great bunch of poeple. Matt might be surprised that he won, but I am not. He really is a natural talent. Dave Tedford
