5StarRacing Posted May 18, 2003 Report Share Posted May 18, 2003 May 17th Race Date We finally made it though a night without being in a wreck! Practice went well, even though it was extremely HOT. Jason, Tommy Owen, Beau & Butch worked on the car and Justin's driving skills. Justin was in the second heat race. He started on the outside pole. It took a couple of trys to get the race started. Justin took the lead at the beginning of the race and lead all 8 laps. He won his 1st race! Not sure how they determine main event starting positions (something to due with point average & top 4 in each heat race), but Justin started on the pole. He lead the race for about 7 laps, before Marcus Bellino pasted him. Bellino won the race, with Justin finishing a strong second. We too were excited about his first win, and he truly has inherited some of his dad's racing genes. Congratulations to all of you, and you and Jason certainly deserve to be proud parents!
