Hook's RPM Posted July 11, 2015 Report Share Posted July 11, 2015 Ark-La-Tex's first Nesmith-sanctioned Late Model race THIS Saturday, 7/18, Lonestar's Summer Sizzler on 7/25 and "The King of THE HILL", a $10,000 to win STOCK Car race at Boothill Speedway near Shreveport!With the 4th of July behind us now, don't think that racing season around here is about to slow down like it has in years prior. With the addition of new summer shows, the return of some traditional summer events and even rescheduled spring events after that horrendous weather from February thru June in 2015, our dirt tracks in Caddo Parrish and Gregg County (servicing Shreveport, LA and Marshall & Longview, TX among others) are busier than ever this July & August!THIS Saturday, July 18th, the Summer Nationals sponsored by Big Texas Auto Parts (Modified ace Kenny Gaddis, proprietor) makes a return to Ark-La-Tex Speedway after being absent from the schedule for a couple of seasons. The SCLMS Late Models -- a Nesmith sanctioned series -- will make it's first appearance ever at #TheLandof3Wide along with Modifieds, ProMods(STEMS), Factory Stocks, Beginners and... LIMITED Modifieds (Southern Sport Mod full-frame Mods) will have their last ALT track time before their annual signature event -- Tootsie Smith Memorial VIII -- runs in Vivian on the weekend of August 22nd.Lonestar Speedway has plenty planned as well. Two spring events have been scheduled & rescheduled multiple times but the Hafertepes & company refuse to give up on them and have combined them to existing July and August events to make for two huge nights! The first will be the annual Summer Sizzler on July 25th in Kilgore which will now also serve as "For the Love of Alex, Stop Texting & Driving Night". No entry fees in any class and LIMITED Modifieds (SSMs) get $1300 to win with an excellent paydown of 800-700-600-500-400-300-200 for 2nd through 8th thanks to help from All Points Systems Copiers (Limited Mod racer Jim Hitz, owner) among others and all the way down to $100 just to start the A-main and paying 24 spots! Modifieds race for $1200 to win and $100 to start while Factory Stocks and STEMS (ProMods) will get $500 to win each.The second Lonestar Speedway event finds the Texas Outlaw Modified Series and NASCAR's Ken Schrader joining 'Back to School Night' on Saturday, August 15th. TOMS Modifieds will race for $2000-to-win (and they will have to beat the Federated Auto Parts #9 to get it!) and $200 just to start the A-main!Boothill Speedway's big race weekend begins July 30th when the mega Factory Stock event known as the 'King of The Hill" kicks off. $10,000 will be paid to the winner of that feature on August 1st -- the most in the 12-year history of the class! See flier in 3rd post down. Boothill is scheduled for a busy August as well...
