NickHolt Posted December 11, 2014 Report Share Posted December 11, 2014 Abilene's April Phillips 1st female driver to win IMCA crown in any class April Phillips became the first female driver in any sanctioned division to win a regional crown by topping Charger Chassis Southern Region standings for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks this season. From Abilene, Phillips won nine features, in addition to Lubbock Speedway track and Allstar Performance Texas State titles. I had regular communication with Marvin Fillip, Chet's dad, back in the day. and still use some of his notes on leaf springs in my seminar.
