RAB Racing NNS Event Preview: Bristol Motor Speedway

 

Thunder Valley...The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns back to the oval after racing at road-courses the last two weeks. This weekend will mark the series' second trip to Bristol Motor Speedway during the 2014 season. During the first race weekend at Bristol earlier this season, James Buescher and the No. 99 Rheem team started inside the top-10 in the eighth-place and finished in 13th. This weeks start at Bristol will mark Buescher's fifth start at a half-mile oval in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Buescher also has five career starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Gotta Have a Rheem...Rheem is back onboard the No. 99 Toyota Camry once again this week serving as the primary sponsor for the No. 99 RAB Racing team.

Mid Ohio Recap...Last weekend's Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course didn't go as planned for the No. 99 Toyota Care/Rheem team. After advancing to the final round of qualifying, the No. 99 RAB Racing team had a special Patient Champion on the pit box cheering on the team. It was just one-lap before the first scheduled pit stop, the No. 99 Toyota Camry team suffered a blown right-front tire causing damage to Buescher's Camry. After having to go to the garage for repairs, Buescher rejoined the field in the 31st-place, six laps down. Buescher continued to fight to the checkered flag and finished the 90-lap race in the 25th position.

Chassis Info...RAB Racing will bring chassis No. 040 with them to Bristol Motor Speedway. This particular chassis was used the last time the NASCAR Nationwide Series visited the high-banked half-mile oval of Bristol earlier this season.

Catch the Action...The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to the high-banks of Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 300. The event can be seen Friday, August 22 at 7:00pm live on ESPN. The event can also be heard on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90 and on PRN Radio.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back on the high-banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol is a very fast and challenging track but I enjoy racing there. Everything can happen very quickly at Bristol so you really have to be on your toes at all times. Coming back to a track for a second time gives my RAB Racing team a good opportunity to use what we learned from the first race and apply it to this weekend. Earlier in this spring we had a pretty good run, but there is always room for improvement."
