McLemore out runs DCRST field at Kyle

 

Todd McLemore (54) survived a great battle with guest driver J.C. Umscheid (44) to win the Dwarf Car Racing Series main event at the Affordable Golf Carts 250 at Central Texas Speedway Saturday night. The two drivers battled back and forth past the midway point of the race as the 18 car field navigated the race track at two and three wide at various points. After a late race yellow flag McLemore regained the advantage after Umscheid had made a pass for the top spot.

 

Ryan Stoy (20),Butch Havelka (27) and Dwain Groff (14) rounded out the top 5 in race number 12 of the season. Kevin Hubbard (3), Jerry Young (18) and D. Groff picked up the heat race wins.

 

One race remains before the start of the series Final 4 and the point standings continue to be close with Havelka gaining points over the tight battle for second between Billy Groff and Dwain Groff. Full point standings and race results from CTS and race videos are at www.DCRST.com.

 

DCRST takes a much needed week off after 3 straight events before returning to Corpus Christi Speedway Saturday August 23rd for the track season finale. The Wild Side tour will join the Texas Asphalt Limited Modifieds, Texas Pro Sedans, Lone Star Legacys and CC Bombers in what promises to be a great night of racing on the ¼ mile high banked bullring.

 

This race number 13 will set the scene as DCRST settles the 2014 season championship going into it's Final 4 that begins after the CC event. Those final 4 point events will be held at CTS (Sept 6 & Oct 18) as well as South Texas Speedway (Sept 27) and Houston Motorsports Park (Oct 25) to crown the champion.
