NickHolt
Jackson Motor Speedway Postponed Tonight; Looking Bright for Ark-La-Tex and Outlaw Jackson, MS (April 4, 2014) - Tonight's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Southern 50 at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS has been postponed. Due to severe storms overnight and this morning leading up to the event, Jackson Motor Speedway and LOLMDS officials were left with no option, except to postpone tonight's events. The series will look for a suitable make-up date. "Due to the heavy saturation JMS received last night and this morning, the grounds were just to soggy for us to hold an event this evening," stated Don Cliburn, Jackson Motor Speedway promoter. "We really hate to lose this again this year, the last time we raced here was a barn-burner, and we can't wait to come back," stated Series Director, Ritchie Lewis. The weather forecast for the remainder of the weekend is steadily improving and the series will head to two new venues this weekend. Tomorrow, April 5th, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA and Outlaw Motorsports Park in Muskogee, OK on Sunday, April 6th for a pair of $10,000 to win events. Both events will feature Miller Welders Time Trials, full Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap Feature. For more information, check out www.arklatexspeedway.net and www.outlawmotorsportspark.com.
