Bob Riley named Lone Star Legacy Series Parts and Parts Information resource

San Antonio, TX (February 10, 2014) - The Lone Star Legacy organization is pleased to announce that Bob Riley, well-respected owner of Riley Transmissions in San Marcos, has agreed to serve as the Parts and Parts Information Resource for the Lone Star Legacys.

Bob has had extensive experience with the Legacys and has fielded a number of front-running Legacys over the years and also served as the series director for several of those years.

"Bob knows these cars better than anyone and we're very glad that he's on board with us," Lone Star Legacy Director James Huff said. "He has been right up front with us and we're all on the same page. We want to keep the cars as close to the original Legacy specs as possible and Bob has been a big part of the Legacys in Texas since day one. He knows the deal and we're glad he's part of the team."

Riley has an impressive stock of Legacy parts already at his San Marcos shop and knows where to obtain what he might not have on hand. And he's the sort of person who will point you to other sources for Legacy parts if need be - thus the "information resource" portion of his new title.

"There are lots of Legacy cars around and I'm happy to see James getting the Legacys organized after several years of, well, declining interest for one reason or another," Riley said. "James has a reputation for honesty and integrity which is well earned. His nickname, 'Gentleman James' Huff, suits him to a tee."

Legacy teams, however, are not limited to obtaining parts from Riley.

"We don't care where anyone gets their parts as long as they meet the Lone Star Legacy rules," Huff explained. "We know there are several places where Legacy parts are for sale and we also know that many of our teams can make their own legal parts. We're not dictating where folks get their parts. We're just going to make sure those parts are legal."

If anyone has questions about the legality of any part from any source, please get in touch with James Huff, who will also be serving as the Lone Star Legacy Chief Tech.

We've had a couple of questions regarding various parts suppliers and engine builders.

The Lone Star Legacy Series has named Bob as our primary parts vendor. That means that we would like our teams to obtain Legacy parts from him, but that we are not requiring that any team use any particular vendor for parts or engines.

As far as the series is concerned, all we require is parts on a Lone Star Legacy car be legal no matter where they were obtained. Want to go to Allison for parts? Fine. Want to get parts from Indiana? Great! Want to get parts from Bob? We hope that will be your choice since Bob is on board with our desire to bring the Legacys back to spec. By the way, Bob has several Legacy cars in his camp.

That being said, we are aware that Bob already has tons of Legacy parts in stock and knows where to find it if he doesn't have it on hand.

But here's the big plus for getting parts from Bob. He has a large trailer full of legal Legacy parts and plans on bringing that trailer to our events just like he used to a few years ago.

If you have further questions, feel free to email or call James or Nick.
