MOCZYGEMBA GOING FOR WINS IN FINAL NASCAR FIESTA MODIFIED RACES ON 2013 SCHEDULE AT HOUSTON MOTORSPORTS PARK

Houston, TX (October 10, 2013) - With two races left in the 2013 oval track schedule at Houston Motorsports Park, NASCAR Fiesta Modified driver Brian Moczygemba will have just one thing on his mind – winning. That is because his place in the points is all but locked up, needing really just to make the final two starts of the season to finish second.

Fiesta Modified driver Brian Moczygemba (50) looks to win this Saturday night during Fiesta's Fall Fastival. Steve Steinle photo.

“This season's been successful because of the work that goes into the cars at the shop,” Moczygemba said. “Every time we unload the car is fast. I'm just the guy lucky enough to be in the seat. … We put a crate motor in the car after Speedfest, which I think also contributes to alot of the success. We won the first night out after Speedfest.”

The 27-year old from San Antonio currently sits second with 468 points on the season, which is 114 points behind series leader and three-time track champion Joe Aramendia, his uncle, and 124 points ahead of third-place driver Ian Webster. However that kind of cushion over third won't get Moczygemba to change his driving style. No, it will be peddle to the floor as usual for the driver of the No. 50.

“I've never been much of a points racer, or had the mindset to points race,” Moczygemba said. “If you're consistently running up front and winning races, the points will fall your way. We will unload on Saturday with the same goal we have had for every race this year – winning, plain and simple.”

That mindset has earned him two wins this season – the first coming in Feature No. 1 at Harlem Shake Double Feature Night on April 13, with the second coming at Fiesta's Summer Sizzler on July 6, as well as numerous second place finishes.

In between those victories, Moczygemba took time out to get married and didn't miss a start at HMP.

“My wife, Lauren, is very understanding of racing and the time it takes at the shop to perform well,” Moczygemba said. “I really don't know how else to explain it. She knows racing is a big part of my life and now hers as well. I think she enjoys it almost as much as I do. We are expecting our first child in April of next year, so I am sure that will change things a bit. But I don't plan on slowing down too much.”

The newlyweds, and soon to be parents, will get another opportunity to enjoy a victory lane celebration when racing resumes on Saturday night, Oct. 12, at Fiesta's Fall Fastival. It will be another chance for Moczygemba to get his third win of the season in the NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds and lock up his place in the points.

Then it will be on to the 2014 season, where things are still up in the air for Moczygemba.

“I don't know what our plans for 2014 are just yet,” he said. “I'm not sure I'll run for the championship next year of not, but hopefully we'll be racing more times than not.”
