Race-Ready
New to the late model world. What is the advantage of removing 1st and 2nd gear verses to leaving it a four speed. Sorry for the newbie question. I have done some research on the net but have came up empty. Thanks, Shane

jp17
Exactly right jason, It reduces the rotating weight. jp
racerjim2
A lot of series in south texas make you run all 4 forward gears and reverse check the rules before you purchace or remove any gears
ROMCO33
2 speeds are great for short tracks, you dont have to worry about going through all the gears before you get to the 1st corner, you can slap it in low gear on restarts and hammer down Speedways 4 speed
Poohba
You get added reliability when removing the lower gears too. Most factory standard tranny gears don't have needle bearings so you get rid of the unnecessary friction and heat generated by the wildly spinning gears. They rotate at extreme speeds when in 3rd and 4th and are nothing but a liability. IMO If you have to use them you should run a full synthetic oil and check for galling on the shaft a few times a season.
