DirtRacer9s
I bought this on ebay a few years ago. It has no inserts or bolt holes to mount a pressure plate. I looked online for similar flywheels but I couldn't find anything. I was thinking it is for a boat but I'm not sure. Any ideas??
4cylfordz
Sure does look marine to me
floyd26f
Or it's to be used with a mini clutch. How much does it weigh?
DirtRacer9s
Its been a while since I weighed it but I think it weighed less than my 153 tooth which weighs 13-14 lbs. I want to say 8-9 lbs.
4cylfordz
I had thought maybe for a brinn or somthing with an internal clutch. Usually a ram coupler uses a flexplate. Though sure does look like something you would install in front of a jet pump
jwmbishop
Its for a direct drive application (marine, industrial etc). Had one just like it on the crank of a Hyd Pump driven by a 235CI straight six on a Bucyrus Erie Hydro Crane.... the bolts went through the coupler and flywheel sandwiching the fly. A good machine shop can drill and tap for whatever clutch you want... just be sure to rebalance.

jwmbishop
Does it need inserts for the clutch? If you mean thread inserts - wouldn't hurt - just not helicoils - use steel t-serts... Otherwise I don't understand....
DirtRacer9s
I meant insert for the clutch to ride on. When the clutch is slipping will it eat up the aluminum?
jwmbishop
LMAO I never caught that it was aluminum and my magnet doesn't stick to the screen! No you cant pressure plate to aluminum. It would last maybe one stab of the throttle. By the time you spent enough to press in a steel ring, center the p plate, drill and tsert and rebalance you will have spent enough to buy a MUCH better flywheel. DirtRacer9s
OK. I was just trying to figure out what it was so when I sell it I have more information about it.
