"Quarter Beer Night" at San Antonio Speedway

SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 4, 2013) - The Texas Stock Car Spectacular is right around the corner. This exciting event, which promises to be "bigger and faster than ever," will be held this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 6 & 7) at San Antonio Speedway's half-mile asphalt oval that's located on Highway 16 South.

 

Friday's events will begin with scheduled practice sessions throughout the day, followed by qualifying and heat races on Friday night.

 

The grandstand gates will open at 3P, and the races will start at 7P. The Pro Late Models and Modifieds will qualify for feature race starting positions. All other classes will have heat races to determine the starting lineups for the feature races on Saturday.

 

Thanks to Jenn's Beer, Wine & Spirits (Castroville, TX), it will be "Quarter Beer Night" in the grandstands on Friday (Sept. 6). Draft beer will be available at 25 cents a cup until it's gone!

 

For the convenience of the SAS fans, ATM machines will be available all weekend at the front gate and under the grandstands. Along with the usual concession menu in the pits and grandstands, several new food items will be available - including chicken fajitas, hamburgers and brisket sandwiches. The cost for bottled water has been lowered to $1.50 (instead of $3), and soft drinks will be available for $2 (instead of $3).

 

Pre-race entries indicate that more than 70 cars and trucks will be racing at the Texas Stock Car Spectacular in the regular San Antonio Speedway (SAS) classes. In addition, over 30 entries have been received by the two touring series that will be joining the Spectacular - the Texas Asphalt Limited Modified Series (TALMS) and the Texas Pro Sedans (TPS). That's more than 100 cars (and trucks) overall!

 

Again, the grandstand gates will open at 3P on Saturday, and the races will start at 7P.

 

The agenda for Saturday (Sept. 7) night is jam packed with racing action - with over 300 laps of feature races that include the Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Trucks, Street Stocks, Tator Plumbing Chargers and Jenn's Beer Wine & Spirits Grand Stocks. TALMS will be making its debut appearance at SAS, while TPS will be making its first reappearance since SAS reopened last October.
