NickHolt Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 TPS in “Octoberfast” at San Antonio Speedway October 16 San Antonio, TX - The Texas Pro Sedans touring series will visit the Alamo city for the third of three 2004 races on Saturday night, October 16th. TPS will contest the twelfth and final raceof their season at San Antonio Speedway. The Texas Pro Sedan series is completing its 29th consecutive year of four cylinder stock car racing in Texas during the 2004 season. TPS Race and Administrative Director, Neil Upchurch has announced that 25 entrys are expected to participate at the 1/2 mile, high banked asphalt San Antonio Speedway as week two of a two week major event entitled “Octoberfast”. The TPS Championship and “Rookie of the Year” titles will be decided at the October 16th race. Donnie Moore and Bill LaBarge are aiming to repeat as TPS Champions. They are only 11 points apart for the TPS Championship. Bryce Dishman and Ariel Arredondo are closer by a 6 point margin for the “Rookie of the Year” title. Included in the entry list are all four drivers who have won all 2004 races. Five time TPS race winner Donnie Moore of Hutto in the George Merrell VW Scirocco. Three race winner Bill LaBarge of Bryan will race his BMW. Ford Mustang drivers include two-time winner Lalo Leal of Corpus Christi and the most recent TPS race winner, Bryce Dishman of Devine. The Texas Pro Sedans event will consist of 2 laps of Qualifying Time Trials and a 25 Lap Feature Race. Yellow flag laps will not be scored. A full racing program featuring the ROMCO Super Late Model Series, The Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS), The San Antonio Speedway Sportsman class and “Women on Wheels” feature races are also scheduled.
