DirtRacer9s
I acquired a tranny but I'm not sure what it is. It looks like a 3 speed Saginaw but I've never seen one with five mounting holes on the front. Number on the case is 8273245. Help please. Searches that number but can't find anything. It has 7 bolts holding the side cover on.

Truck99
We had one of those that we ran in our super stock for a number of years. I never was successful in identifying exactly what it was, but it ran great. The only issue is that it's a heavy sucker. In addition to the additional hole on top, the hump on the side of the main case is more pronounced than a regular Saginaw.
DirtRacer9s
1.75 second. Mr. Stapp since you have run one can you verify that.
txtom
Try searching for a 73 Chevy pickup transmission; that was the first year those 5 bolt transmissions showed up. Someone with an old shop manual should be able to help you.
Truck99
1.75 second. Mr. Stapp since you have run one can you verify that. No, we ran it in 3rd, so 2nd gear never came into play for us.
jwmbishop
No grooves on clutch splines. 2.85, 1.68, 1.00 The fifth tab is C\K series 4wd 6cyl (68-74 Blazer/Jimmy). You can use a five tab in a four application - but not the other way around.
