Mel
Hello Nick, Was the car that won SAS Leroy or Steve's car from last year, or a new car to the series? I know the season is very young, but do you think the off-season rules changes have helped equal out the competition in the TPS? Thanks, Mel

NickHolt
Mel, Both Leroy's #11 (now the #6 car driven by Tony Johnson) and Steve's #4 car (now the #22 car driven by Jack Dishman) were at SAS this past Saturday. The goal was to slow the Eslinger-head (aftermarket) cars down a half second and it looks like we got that done both at Kyle and SAS. The BMW was fastest by 2 tenths over Lee at Kyle and only 2 tenths off Dishman and Lee at San Antonio. However, none of the front-wheel drive VWs have lived up to their full potential yet, so the verdict is still out on them. The air-cooled VW is able to run with the lead pack at Kyle (until he developed a bad push towards the end of the race) too, so it looks like we've leveled the playing field quite a bit. Of course, we always reserve the right to make adjustments to the rules, including the carb and weight rules, so we are keeping a close watch on lap times and other performance indicators. Sure would be nice if you could get a SAAB somewhere to run with us.. lol Nick Holt
