NickHolt Posted August 26, 2012 Report Share Posted August 26, 2012 Labor Day racing at its finest this Sunday, Sept 2, at Golden Triangle Raceway Park featuring ASCS & EMSA Sprints at the 5th Annual “Race for a Cure” fund raiser by Joy Graham Beaumont, TX ( August 26, 2012) - This week, Golden Triangle Raceway Park goes to Sunday night in a special Labor Day Extravaganza held in conjunction with the 5th annual Joe Graham Memorial “Race for a Cure”. Highlighting the race program, which starts at 7 p.m., will be the amazing ASCS Sprints and the EMSA Mini Sprints. Ron Skinner photo. Golden Triangle Raceway Park will host the ASCS Sprints and EMSA Mini sprints this Sunday at the "Race for a Cure", an American Cancer Society fund raiser. Ron Skinner photo. Three GTRP classes will also race for a Labor Day bonus at the pay window. Limited Modifieds compete for a $1000 winner’s purse, Street Stocks are battling for $600 and Hobby Stocks will race for a $500 winners purse. The American Cancer Society will be the beneficiary of all funds raised through donations and sales of “Race for a Cure” t-shirts, raffle tickets and auction items. Prior to the show, raffle tickets and t-shirts may be purchased at the following businesses: Harris Muffler and Brake, 110 N. Main in Vidor; Shear Power Beauty Salon, 7558 Calder in Beaumont, and Buster’s Automotive Repair in Beaumont. Volkswagen enthusiast will also be interested in the VW Car Show and Parade being held in connection with the “Race for a Cure”. One person per VW will be allowed in the races FREE. There is no charge to be in the car show. All types of VW powered vehicles are welcome, but must be mobile. The parade will be held during intermission. For a $2 or more donation to help fight cancer, fans may ride in the parade. Trophies will be given to “the most unusual Volkswagen, the Best in Show, and the Most Original.
