Mel
Lookin to learn... Noticed that most of the ROMCO racers qualified 5 or even 6 tenths faster than their fastest race lap. I know a couple of tricks for qualifying but not that much. Is there anyone that might like to throw in a few hints? Or are the drivers just leaning on it harder? Mel Over 40 and still learning... Colt15
I think alout of it Mel is that pretty much every team soaks there tires at corpus. Im sure that has to do with some of it but im sure the driver is also up on the wheel alittle more during there qual lap. -Colt J
NickHolt
Mel, Soaking tires is a bunch of it. Also, people tape off the front end, run with no alternator, unhook any fans, etc. that could be a drag on HP. Some teams also run qualifying with more cross weight and stagger than they would run in the race. This is to heat up the tires quicker during qualifying. If you ran that same setup during the race, you'd overheat the tires pretty early in the going. Nick Holt
sfrebel
also upping the air pressures will help get more speed in qualifying
