San Antonio Speedway Plays Host To Texas Super Racing Series

By: Pat Mayberry

After being rained out in both March and April, the star drivers of the

Texas Super Racing Series will finally make their season debut this Saturday

night at the famed high-banked, half-mile San Antonio Speedway. Series

Founder & Director, Mary Ann Naumann says "This is going to be some of the

most exciting racing action seen this entire season with these three series

running at this incredible half mile track, this is a Race Fan's night of

racing!"

Former San Antonio Speedway standouts, Lloyd Alexander #5 and Beau Bukowski

in the #00 will be making a return to their former home track for this

event. Forty points presently separate the top five drivers in the series.

Alexander, second in points, trails current points leader Mike Yale #50 by

only thirteen points and Bukowski, currently third in points, is trailing

Yale by only twenty-two points going into this race. Brad Hudak #04 and

Brian Schild #11, are twenty-six and forty points behind Yale respectfully.

"This always makes for additional exciting racing action, even when Driver's

do not want to be running for the points, they just seem to get wrapped up

in them when they are all this close, any one of our top 10 or so could win

the title of the "2004 TSRS Champion" stated Naumann.

San Antonio Speedway is a favorite track to many series regulars because of

the speeds they can expect to run on the fastest and widest track on the

schedule. Fans can expect to see some exciting racing as these cars run

side by side for position all night long. This race will be a 65-lap event

and is scheduled to roll off the line at 7:30 PM. Qualifying for this race

will be at 5:15 PM.

Appearing with the Texas Super Racing Series this weekend are the stars of

the ROMCO Super Late Model Series and the American Race Truck Series (ARTS).

The evening of racing is being sponsored by San Antonio based ROMCO

Equipment Company.

Tickets are only $20.00 general admission and $15.00 for seniors and

military. Children 10 to 16 are $10.00 and children 9 and under are free.

Gates open at 4:00PM with qualifying beginning at 5:00PM. Racing will start

at 7:00PM. For more information on the Texas Super Racing Series, please
