dano36
The Nashville newspaper last week carried a story stating that Tony Formosa was given a one year contract to run 7 racing events at the Fairgrounds speedway. There has been no schedule posted yet nor has any information been given about what classes will be ran, etc. But of the 7 events, one can be a night event. Tony Formosa was a regular racer at the Fairgrounds over the years and was the promoter for the 2010 season when they ran the last All American 400. He had a successful season and had an over capacity crowd for the last AA400 held there. Sterling Marlin had also tried to get a contract to run the Speedway but he wanted a 5 year lease but in the past the Fairgrounds has been reluctant to give more than a one year lease. So the old place will live another year. I speculate that the one night event will be the AA400 at the end of the season.
