n2racing2 Posted October 17, 2011 Report Share Posted October 17, 2011 Congratulations to Megan Smith on her Win Saturday night at Houston Motorsports Park! In a tight race, Megan held her composure and position until late in the race when she methodically started to pic off drivers one at a time. On lap 24 she took over the lead with help from Reagan Garner and Kaleb Kreis passing Jason Marshall for the lead and thus shuffling Jason back to 4th. Megan held the lead to the finish line but just barely as Kaleb Kreis finished 2nd by .018 of a second with Reagan Garner .23 seconds back and Jason Marshall .46 seconds back. You could have thrown a blanket over the top 4 at the finish line!! With the win, this gave Megan a 5 point lead going into the 2nd feature. But Jason Marshall did well to pick up the bonus point for leading the most laps, thus only giving up 3 points to Megan for the Championship. Congratulations are also in order for Reagan Garner who took the 2nd feature win over 2nd place Kaleb Kreis and third place Jason Marshall. Reagan led only 2 laps in the race. The first lap and the last lap!! But had been shuffled as far down as 5th during the race. He clawed his way back up to Kaleb Kreis who was running 2nd and the 2 of them ran down Jason Marshall with 4 laps to go to drop Jason back to 3rd. And on the last lap, Reagan made his move to pass Kaleb and take his 2nd win of the season by .025 of a second over Kaleb Kreis and by .204 over Jason Marshall in 3rd. With Jason finishing 3rd and again leading the most laps and Megan Smith fading back late in the race to 6th, Jason made up 4 points on Megan Smith but still trails her by 1 point in the championship. n2racing2 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2011 The final race of the year is supposed to be the Greg Biffle Foundation Crew Challenge. Last year this race was at Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls. This year as soon as the final details are worked out is suppose to be at NTK, North Texas Karters, if the details get worked out. I am glad you have gotten your motor problems resolved Megan and glad to see you are holding on to the season points lead. If the Greg Biffle Chalange dosen't work out for the last race of the season, keep in mind the Pro Karts can run the last race at Thunderhill under the lights on an upcoming Saturday night.
