NeilTPS Posted July 6, 2004 Report Share Posted July 6, 2004 IMCA MODS & “Train” Races at I-37 Speedway July 9th Pleasanton, Texas On July 9th, I-37 Speedway will feature the IMCA Modifieds, a full class racing event and a special event, ”Train Races” as the track returns to Friday nights. I-37 Speedway General Manager Frank Torres has announced “Gates open at 4:00pm on Friday, July 9th. The racing program starts at 8:30pm.” He also said “we will have a schedule that will include the following racing classes”: IMCA Modifieds…Limited Late Model… Super Stocks…Pure Stocks And a Special concluding event… “Train Races” Heat and Feature Races will be held for each classification. The “Train Races” feature stock cars tied together with chains and team racing as a train. As initiated on June 18th, I-37 Speedway will again host 30 United States servicemen who were wounded in Iraq. The military personnel are patients at Brooke Army Medical Center and will be brought to I-37 Speedway by Army bus. I-37 Speedway is a quarter mile oval dirt track located on the east side I-37 exactly 30 miles south of the Interstate 37 and Loop 410 interchange. Racing fans from San Antonio, Corpus Christi and other South Texas areas should take exit # 104 (Leal Road) proceed south on the east frontage road and follow the signs to I-37 Speedway.
