Beaumont, Texas (April, 24, 2011) - Racing Action Heats Up Golden Triangle Raceway Park

The weather is not the only thing heating up in the Golden Triangle so is the racing action. When “hot shoes” from across Texas and Louisiana meet, race fans know the show is going to sizzle.

Last week’s Good Friday race program was made up of five GTRP classes, but only four drivers entered the winner’s circle.

Howard Willis soared his way into the spotlight in both the Modified and Limited Modified contests.

Vidorian, David Thibodeaux took his first Pure Stock feature win of the season.

His brother, Eddie, (races in the same class) brought out the only red flag of the night when the #357 car he drives for John Boutte, burst into flames. He was o.k.

In the Hobby division, Tyler Erb made his Golden Triangle debut memorable by winning the feature. \

Blake Adair made a clean sweep of the two Jr. Mini Stock contest.

This Friday, April 29, Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, Hobby Stock, Stingers and Jr. Minis will be headed back to the fast lane. Special fan participation event to be held during intermission this week will be the Frozen T-Shirt contest. Lots of fun for everyone!

Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, Texas. Pit Gates open at 5 p.m. and grandstand opens at 6 p.m.

Racing action gets underway by 8 p.m. For more information about rules and up-coming events visit the track web site, www.gtrpbmt.com or call 409-752-7200.
