txtom Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 The group that has a very successful motorcycle show every year is presenting a car show this year the weekend of March 18-20. Will be a big event, and there will be several classes of cars presented, including competition. This show will be held at the new Expo Center next to Joe Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio. Also present at this show, as of now, will be two vintage Midgets, and two vintage Sprint cars courtesy of the VTOW Group. The "Checkerboard" Dreyer Offy belonging to Bill Jones is scheduled to be there, as well as the #5 V8-60 of Pete Carlsson, which belonged to our own Johnny Doyle. Add to that the Don Menard Scrapper Special from Lakeway, and the Murphree Brothers who will bring their recently finished Jim McElreath Sprinter. If you like good looking old open wheel racers, and want to swap stories with some great folks, stop by and pau y a visit. All the owners love to talk about their cars and appreciate the response from the crowd.
