I still have found nothing to explain why NASCAR is showing Richard Petty as the car owner. Anyone?

The only thing that I can think of to explain why Petty was listed as the owner of the car is because they used his owner points from a team to make the first 5 shows of the year.

Richard, through his RPM team reached an agreement with Wood Brothers Racing to start Wood Brothers II LLC.

As a result, the team’s No. 21 Motorcraft Ford and driver Trevor Bayne will use the owner’s points from the Petty's No. 19 team, which closed in the off-season.
