jwmbishop
I still have found nothing to explain why NASCAR is showing Richard Petty as the car owner. Anyone?
Modracer
The only thing that I can think of to explain why Petty was listed as the owner of the car is because they used his owner points from a team to make the first 5 shows of the year. jwmbishop
That sounds right. Thank you.
txtom
Modracer was correct. Richard, through his RPM team reached an agreement with Wood Brothers Racing to start Wood Brothers II LLC. As a result, the team’s No. 21 Motorcraft Ford and driver Trevor Bayne will use the owner’s points from the Petty's No. 19 team, which closed in the off-season.
