NickHolt Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 Golden Triangle Racers Prepare for Final Pre-Season Play Day Beaumont, Texas (February 21, 2011) - This Saturday, February 26, will be the final pre-season “Play Day” at Golden Triangle Raceway Park. This is a time when drivers come out to tune and test their cars in preparation for the 2011 competition. Golden Triangle racers test and tune their cars before the season opens. Joy Graham photo. In addition to the Friday night fast lane events this year, there will be Go-Kart racing at a new track that has opened up on the Southeast side of the pit area. The go-kart action will take place on the first and third Saturdays of each month. They are also welcome to test their karts on “Play Day”. Go-kart enthusiast of all ages are excited about the new kart track at GTRP. Joy Graham photo. Racing season officially begins on March 4th with the ASCS Sprints getting top billing. Close to 50 sprints are expected to take part in the event which will earn the drivers regional and national points. Also taking part in the opening night show will be the Limited Modifieds, Street Stock, Hobby Stocks, and Jr. Mini Stocks. Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on West Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, TX. Pit gates will open at noon for “Play Day”. Admission to the pits this Saturday is $10.
