What happens when he first closes the throttle is the momentum of the intake air suddenly slows creating a high pressure in the atmosheric (above the venturi) bleeds. the spike coupled with slosh causes fuel to come up the vent tube - not typical pullover where an overfull float bowl does it all by its lonesome - but still pull over. This is also one of the reasons why some guys have to "burp" on the apex - to clear that - and a good visual of why you should shut off on the straight when plug checking!
