tommyo
As far as I know, Bobby Allison came to race at Meyer Speedway twice: He won the NASCAR Grand National Space City 300 on June 23, 1971, and returned on June 24, 1972 for a Sportsman event - I don't remember if it was a special, big purse race or not, but it was a really good night of racing. Bobby and Phil Cronin ran up front for awhile until they tangled, with others, and both ended up against the wall. Larry Schild was the eventual winner that night. 1st photo, Bobby Allison and Richard Petty on track, Space City 300, June 23, 1971 2nd photo, Bobby and Ed Hamblin at the trophy presentation, Space City 300 3rd photo, Bobby and eventual winner Larry Schild ontrack 4th photo, Bobby ontrack in his Chevelle Sportsman 5th photo, Bobby's night ended against the wall
