jwmbishop
I just happened to recognize the grind number. Thats a 244deg duration .3454 cam (x 1.5 rocker is .518 valve lift). Are you replacing an existing cam? The one you have is good for open ported heads and a four barrel. If you are running a "stock" head (gasket match only) and 2bbl - you may be better off with a little less total cam (more dur - around 255 dur less lift - lift around .485 valve) - port velocity @4500rpm (mid straight to entry lift) will improve drastically. But I am not a cam specialist by any means - i rely on the guys who do the selecting on a regular basis. I highly recommend Schneider - Jerry Cantrell is a wiz at matching the bumps to your engine and chassis needs! And with Schneider you talk directly to the guy who designs and dynos them - not a salesman wanting you to buy the one with the best profit margin. DirtRacer9s
I bought a engine with very little run time and it had this cam in it. Basically brand new cam. We cant run these cams in our race class and we have to pull 15 inches of vacuum.

jwmbishop
ouch - that takes out more than half of my favorite grinds. Not many 7k rpm engines in the field either. but then i guess that's the point.
