Bandolero Racer Congrats

Recommended Posts

On behalf of Houston Race Cars and Team Hogan racing we'd like to congratulate all the boys who raced yesterday at the Bandolero Nationals.

Major Congratulations go out to thirteen year old Clayton Green on his win in the Outlaw class at the Bandolero Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway. He started on the pole in an eighteen car field and was passed on a restart and fell back to third but was able to patiently work his way back up to first. He did a very impressive job and showed everyone how Texas boys can get it done.

Congrats to Jake Thomasson, age twelve, who finished eight in the Bandit class after starting thirtenth in the 20 car Bandit field. He was very fast and did a great job of working his way through the field and avoiding all the craziness.

Christopher Hogan, age 10, started fourtenth and was put to the rear of an 20 car field after an earlier spin to avoid a wreck. He raced his way back to ninth when he was hit from behind and sent into the grass. They threw the caution three laps later to get him back onto the track where he restarted at the rear of the field. However, he was able to pass five cars within two laps to finish the race with a torn up car.

Twelve year old Chase Schubert was very fast all weekend and started twelfth in the twenty car Bandit class and was doing a great job of passing and avoiding wrecks when he started having motor issues early in the race. Unfortunately, the motor issues kept him from returning to the race.

Eight year old Chandler Ford started fourteenth and was immediately wrecked from behind going into turn two at the start of the race. His car was too torn up to continue and had to be taken out on the hook. Chandler did an awesome job all weekend of hanging with the older boys.

We are so very proud of each and everyone of these boys. Racers came from North Carolina, California and Canada to race and these kids who race at Houston Motorsports Park were absolutely able to hold their own and show them all that Texas has some great racing talent.
