A-Line Auto Parts Set for a Trip to Thunder Hill Raceway

A-Line Auto Parts shares the spotlight with Hays High School this Saturday night (May 22) at Thunder Hill Raceway.

Oh yah - there will be some exciting side-by-side racing action there, too.

A-Line Auto Parts, along with AC Delco, has been the title sponsor for Thunder Hill Raceway's Street Stock class for the past few years. Saturday night will be A-Line Auto Parts Night at Thunder Hill Raceway, and the racing action on the track will be highlighted by the A-Line Auto Parts 40-lap feature race for the Street Stock class. Other feature races will take place in the Late Models, Hobby Stocks and Grand Stocks classes.

"We're looking forward to a very fun and exciting night of racing at Thunder Hill," said Kurt Filbert, the Marketing Director of A-Line Auto Parts in Austin. "We're proud to have been the title sponsor for what has become Thunder Hill's premier racing class. To show our appreciation for the guys and gals who race in the Street Stocks, we're going to have some special awards this Saturday."

Filbert, who will be this week's Grand Marshall, continued: "We're going to award a $100 certificate to the winner of the 40-lap feature race. We're also going to present the second-place finisher with a $50 certificate and a $25 certificate to the third-place finisher. Plus, we'll have some prizes to present to the fans that attend Saturday night's program at THR."

Among those fans will be the Hays High School Marching Band, which will be included in THR's Opening Ceremonies.

"It is truly an honor to have the Hays High School Marching Band join us this coming Saturday," said THR Marketing/PR/Media Director Chuck Licata. "Part of our efforts to improve our efforts at Thunder Hill is to get more involved with the community, and this is a very important step. The Hays band will play the National Anthem during the Opening Ceremonies, then play the Hays High School fight song before retiring to the stands and taking in a fun night of racing."

Licata added, "We've also extended an offer to the entire Hays High School community to join us. We're going to let students who present their school IDs into the races for just $5, while Hays High School faculty and administrators can get in for just $10 when they present their Hays High School ID cards."

The Hays-Thunder Hill relationship will actually begin this Friday (May 21) as THR wil do a Drivers Appearance at the school during the school's lunch periods from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Doug Ayers of Pflugerville, driver of the #02 A-Line Auto Parts Street Stock, has committed to being at the appearance, and Marc Currey (#05 Late Model) will have a crew member bring his car to the appearance.

Races are held at THR every Saturday night from March through the end of September. For more information, please call the Thunder Hill Raceway office at 512-262-1352. Thunder Hill Raceway is located on the access road at exit 210 (Yarrington Road exit) off IH-35 in Kyle.
