gundogC3
ANYBODY THAT HAS RACED THERE. DOES IT LIKE SCUFFS OR STICKERS?
hray
You'd better check with the track. In years past you had to buy tires from the track. They sold Goodyear takeoffs for $15 ea and everyone had to run that tire.

hath27
The surface is somewhat abrasive. We (USLMA) runs the scuffed Goodyear, but we can soak them, and we get really good bite out of them at Altus. I have never run a new tire there.

woodrow_augustus
Just wanted you to know that new tires work better. The track is pretty abrasive. When we ran there back in the early 90's under the tida, scuffed tires did not work as well as the new ones, woodrow

KrisFrost
There was a new layer of asphalt put down a couple of years ago. I don't know how that would have changed the abrasive factor from before, but it doesn't seem abrasive. The USLMA rules require running old Hooters Pro Cup tires, so I have never run new tires on the 1/3 mile track. I think almost all the classes racing there run scuffs because of the rules. But I would bet new tires would be the way to go. Kris Frost
