THR to help Wallace Middle School with ADA fundraiser

The cars of Shawn Paul Lehman (#5, Street Stock class) and Marc Currey (#05, Late Model class) - both of which are featured during Saturday night racing at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle - will be present tomorrow (Wednesday, May 5th) at Wallace Middle School in Kyle as the school raises money for the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

The cars will be displayed on the infield of the school's track. The school children will be sponsored for participating in the "ADA Walk" between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Kids will raise funds by getting pledges for the number of laps they walk that morning, with all proceeds going to ADA.

"The school contacted us last month about joining them for their fund raiser for ADA," said THR marketing director/announcer Chuck Licata. "We were very happy to make the efforts to get the cars out there and participate in such a worthy cause. Thunder! Hill appreciates Shawn Paul Lehman - who will be appearing with his car - and Marc Currey, who will have some crew members bring his car out to the event. We'll also have some ticket giveaways for the kids at the event."

Licata added that Thunder Hill Raceway drivers have made three appearances in the community since the start of 2004, and several more appearances are being planned over the next five months. THR drivers appearances are free, and anyone interested in having one at their community or social event, or business, should contact Licata at the track at 512-262-1352.

Thunder Hill Raceway is located in Kyle - just north of San Marcos - at exit 210 (the Yarrington Road exit) off IH-35. Races are held every Saturday night at THR from March through September.

Chuck,

These driver/car appearances are, in my humble opinion, one of the best ways to gain exposure for the track and teams. Great job! Appearance like this with a community emphasis are even a bonus. I hope you are able to keep 'em coming as the season continues.
