I hate to say this, but it is getting dark and a few rain drops here and there..The good thing is I live outside of houston to the east, so once it gets here its normally been to houston already..The weather channel says what Nick says..doesn't look good.....But lets hope....

The latest radar for the houston area shows showers and thundershowers directly over the track. According to the National Weather Service, the chance for more showers later in the day is 90%. Doesn't look very promising at this point.

From Mary Ann: The weather in Houston is bad as everywhere else. @ 8:30 spoke with Graham Baker & the call is to cancel tonight's event. Hope to see everyone with TSRS in San Antonio next Saturday, May 1st. There are 9 out of town cars already here from "testing" yesterday, which was very good with #43, Jaime Fuller turning a transponder time of 14.953, following him was #5, Lloyd Alexander with a 15.020! Hope everyone has a safe trip back home. If anyone knows of anyone they can call & save them a trip, please contact them! jp

TGural,

Thanks Mary Ann & Graham for making an early call!

Track promoters and series directors are always in a pickle when it comes to deciding whether to call a race off or not.

IF:

Promoter calls off race early and it stays wet. Promoter is a genius and knows someone pretty far up the Biblical Chain of Command. Of course, the promoter looses his shirt because he has most of the overhead and zero income that week.

Promoter calls off race a bit later hoping the weather will clear but it stays wet. Promoter is an idiot to the out of town teams. Promoter should have known that all those teams traveling from out of town needed to know 8 -10 hours in advance what the weather would be like at 7:00 p.m. on race night. The local teams think the promoter is a genius. Promoter looses his shirt.

Promoter calls off race at the last possible moment and it does stay wet. Everyone agrees that the promoter should have called the race off a LOT earlier and is a greedy idiot and deserves a kick in the butt. Promoter looses his shirt.

Promoter calls race off early and it dries up in plenty of time to race. Promoter should have known it would dry up and is an idiot, hates racing, deserves a kick in the butt. Promoter looses shirt.

Promoter does not call the race off and it dries up just in time to race. Promoter is a genius to the six teams and 22 fans who show up. Everyone else stays home thinking it's too wet to race and accuse the promoter of favoring the teams that did show up. Promoter is an idiot and should have known that nobody would show up. Promoter looses his shirt.

Hey Nick,

Maybe each week we pick a local fan and a representative from each traveling team to make the call on the races. This committee could take the heat for looking like an idiot and the promoter would only loose his shirt! It's not so easy when YOU have to make the call. Any volunteers?
