NEW THUNDER HILL RACEWAY POINTS SYSTEM

 

In an effort to reduce the number of ties in the points, THR is going to a revised point system in 2004. Please note that the heat races will award points all the way down the field and that the amount of points between finishing positions has been reduced.

 

Heat Race

1-25

2-23

3-21

4-19

5-17

6-15

7-13

8-11

9-8

10-6

11 on down 5

 

Feature Race

1-100

2-90

3-85

4-80

5-75

6-70

7-65

8-60

9-55

10-50

11-45

12-40

13-35

14-30

15-25

16-20

18-on down 10

 

* A driver will still receive 5 points for setting fast time during qualifying.

*A driver will still receive 5 points for breaking the track record, but only the fastest car will receive those points instead of all the cars breaking the track record during that qualifying session.

*A driver will still receive 5 points if they break during practice and can’t run the heat or the feature.

*Any ties will be broken by which driver has the most feature wins. If equal, then the driver with the most second-place finishes, third-place finishes, etc.
