ss99,

As everyone in racing knows, it is no fun to be DQ'd. A team pours tons of money, sweat and tears into a race car and the driver drives his/her heart out during the race. Few things are more discouraging than learning that your car did not comply with the class rules after the race.

Likewise, race officials absolutely detest having to tell someone they have been DQ'd. Most of us have been involved in racing for many years and fully understand that the vast majority of cases rules infractions are totally unintentional. Oh sure, there's always someone who knowingly pushes the envelope too far, but most racers put way too much time and effort into their car to risk violating the rules of purpose. Jack and I understand and appreciate that.

So, Chase, here's the answer to your question. Yes, we found a couple of cars during the post-race inspection process that didn't meet the rules this past Saturday. One car was DQ'd for a weight miscalculation and the other for a ride height that was just a bit too low. In both cases it was apparent that the violations were completely unintentional.

Thanks Nick. I completely understand the let-down of being disqualified, and I know Jack takes no pleasure in it. However, it is helpful for us to know what kinds of things are "getting" our fellow racers so that we don't make the same oversight. Thanks for the information.
