LaBarge Wins Season Opening Texas Pro Sedans Race

Bill LaBarge wins Texas Pro Sedans Race # 1 at Thunder Hill Raceway. The 29th consecutive racing season for the 4cyl stock car class got off to a big start at the newly paved 3/8 mile track in Kyle.

LaBarge established a new TPS track record at THR in his BMW. The only five time TPS champion led all 30 race laps. His win puts him in an early season points lead over 2nd place finisher Donnie Moore.

The race was dedicated to the memory of the late Jack Larsen of Pearland. Larsen died on good Friday, April 9. He was a TPS sponsor, car owner, TPS member and drove in one TPS race years ago. His son, Randy Larsen ran two pre-race laps, flying Jack's checkered flag from the window of his # 50. The Thunder Hill grandstand spectators showed their appreciation with a standing ovation as track announcer Chuck Lacata informed the crowd. Randy qualified 5th and went on to finish 3rd in the 30 lap TPS Feature Race, season opener.
