sfrebel
what is the banking on the frontstretch and backstrecth ? how wide is the racing surface ? how are the banking transitions from straight to corner and vice versa? I'm helping somebody with creating a simulation of the track and any help would be greatly appreciated
NeilTPS
Sfrebel - In answer to your questions, I'll try to help you with what I remember. The banking in turns 1,2,3,4 were 22 degrees. The front straight D shaped section was 18 degrees. The back straight was 5 degrees (mainily for drainage). The track width was about 5 lanes. I don't have the exact track width measurement. It would be the same width at Michigan. Except for 4 degrees more in the turns, the TWS 2 mile oval was a duplicate of Michigan International Speedway, which has 18 degrees in the turns. Both tracks had the same designer. The same contractor built both tracks. Neil Upchurch Former Race Director - TWS
