ISCARS Dash Series sanctioned by ASA announces its 2010 schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Wednesday, January 13, 2010) - The International Sport Compact Auto Racing Series (ISCARS) DASH Touring, sanctioned by ASA (American Speed Association) has announced its tentative 2010 season schedule. The schedule will have 16 events on eight different dates.

ISCARS is holding May 1st as a potential starting date for the 2010 season and awaiting confirmation from the promoters of the event.

ISCARS plans a return to Dillon Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track, in Dillon, SC. On Saturday, May 15th. This 4/10-mile high banked oval will provide some great side-by-side tight racing for the compact cars.

The series will then make a trip to Lonesome Pine Raceway, an ASA Member Track, in Coeburn, VA for a Saturday shootout on June 5th. Lonesome Pine is a 3/8-mile track and seats 6,500 fans in the grandstands.

From Virginia to Newport, TN and a visit to Newport Speedway on Saturday, June 19th. This is another 4/10-mile oval that will challenge the stars of ISCARS in another short track classic battle.

ISCARS will be celebrating its Independence Day Weekend at one of the most historic short tracks as they will compete at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC. Who will be the next driver to visit their famous victory circle?

USAR Pro Cup has included an ISCARS DASH Touring 125 lap event at Concord Speedway, in Concord, NC on Saturday, August 28th.

ISCARS officials are awaiting confirmations for events on August 7th and September 18th.

The 2010 season will conclude on Saturday, October 2nd at Hickory Motor Speedway. Could we see a repeat of the 2009 championship where a champion wasn't decided until the last lap?

Each date will include two 75-lap events.

"We are very excited about our 2010 schedule," Randy Claypoole, ISCARS President said. "In December, we unveiled our new Honda Accord and 4 cylinder fuel injected engine, at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. Fans can expect to see the Honda in action this season, along with a new sport compact body style for the DASH cars, The unveiling of the new Honda engine and body package created a lot of interest from fans and potential sponsors for the series. Our phones have been ringing off the hook. The interest is there and I think this will be one of our best seasons yet."
