Texas Super Racing Series To Pay $2,500 To Win

Mary Ann Naumann, Founder of the Texas Super Racing Series, announced Monday, April 12, 2004, that the upcoming May 7th race date at Houston Motorsports Park would pay $2,500 to win. "We are very exited to be a part of the NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Series weekend at Houston Motorsports Park," stated Naumann. "With this being the largest purse yet offered, what an honor to have been invited to participate in this historical event. I would like to personally thank the Bakers and Ricky Turner for putting such an

event together!"

The Texas Super Racing Series Late Models are scheduled for Friday, May 7th on the ultra-fast, high-banked, 3/8-mile tri-oval of Houston Motorsports Park. Drivers competing in the event will race 125-laps at the state of the art facility located on the east side of Houston. An added feature for this race will include a competition yellow flag, allowing teams the opportunity to make adjustments on their powerful machines during the event. The Pit Road area at Houston Motorsports Park is very wide and allows teams to pit on both sides instead of the regular driver side only style of Pit Road. This dual sided pit strategy creates real excitement for the fans and also some nervous moments for drivers and spotters as they enter and exit their pit stall having to watch for cars on both sides of their vehicle.

Rules for this event can be obtained by visiting the Texas Super Racing Series website www.manracingpromotions.com or by calling Jack Sandefur, Director of Tech/Pit Operations at (512) 278-1128 between 8AM and 5PM, Monday - Friday. Testing and tuning for drivers and teams will be on May 6th from Noon - 10PM at a cost of $100.00 per car. There will be limited practice times during the day on Friday and qualifying will be after the final NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Series practice.
